Charivari Agréable

This Month's Artist performing for St. Boniface Concert Society

Under its director Kah-Ming Ng, Charivari Agréable has earned its reputation as one of the most versatile groups in today’s Early Music scene, combining ‘both scholarly research and charismatic musicianship, a combination that puts it at the forefront of period-instrument ensemble’ (BBC Music Magazine).

This programme explores the rich heritage of Italian instrumental music which reached its zenith in the Sonatas of Arcangelo Corelli, regarded across Europe and beyond as the finest music of its day. To aid your appreciation of these often little-known composers, programme notes will be supplied to us live by Peter Allsop, who has spent the last 40 years researching this subject.
